b16 crx axle binding
hi. i am using eibach sportline springs and tokico 4 way adjustable (for stiffness) on my crx b16. i just finished the swap and replaced the axles with the proper ones. when the car is off the ground and i run through the gears, there is no problems with axle binding. when i put it down to run it, the front wheels shake. if i make a right turn it gets worse. if i make a left, it goes away.
i inspected the axles before i put them in and they looked fine. i am wondering if the car is just sitting too low. it is so low that i can't even slide my hydraulic jack under the front end without lifting it a little first. has this ever happened to anyone? does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? |

Re: b16 crx axle binding
the motor i bought was a jdm b16 and it came with a half shaft. is the half shaft that came with it the right size? i bought axles from a 91 teg and did not worry about the half shaft. should i go back and get the half shaft too? or is it not necessary

Re: b16 crx axle binding
A by any chance did you figure out why your axle was binding? I myself have the same problem with my CRX and I can't figure it out.

Re: b16 crx axle binding
if you are using 90-91 axles and it is still binding, i was told to remove some ring on the inside the wheel hub to give myself more room. i could not figure out what ring people were talking about. then another guy told me to buy an axle from a 89 integra and thats what i did. the 89 axle is just a tiny bit shorter (short enough to make it stop binding). i have cornered like a maniac and never had any problems with that axle. by the way, the passenger side axle is from a 90-91 and the drivers side is from a 89. i didnt have problems with the passenger side. i got that axle from autozone for like $90 or so. hope this helps.

Re: b16 crx axle binding
Well Thanks a lot for the info and yeah I've heard something about a ring being in the hub but I didn't find anything. Well I'm using the 91 Integ axles with a siR half shaft. I was told the Half shaft will work so I will go for the 89 axle
