How to Get Serial Number of Radio
Hi. I bought a used Mitsubishi Montero 2000 Sport. I don't think they gave me the code to reset the stereo. I can't find the "cards" anywhere. The dealer is willing to give me the code if I give them ther serial number. Else they'll charge me to recode the darn thing for me. Do you know how I can rip the stereo out without damaging the car or better yet, a way to get the serial number?
The stereo reset after replacing the battery. Thanks! |

Re: How to Get Serial Number of Radio
I'm not sure how it is with the Montero Sport, but I had the same problem with my mom's 98 Montero. Where the dash is, around your stereo usually, there should be two screws. Unscrew that and you can take out the plastic piece of the console. Just unscrew the screws holding in the radio and pull it out a bit. The serial number is on top of the radio. You should also get the MR number since they'll be asking for that, too. Again, this is what I did with my mom's 98 Montero. Hopefully it's similar to your car. And, if anything, just ask the guys @ Mitsu how to get to it; they should tell you. Good Luck
