Thrown Rod?

ok now that I got my geo up and running. New fuel injector and New cap and wires. I think that I might have thrown a rod?!? Can anyone please tell me what the symptoms are??? I have a heavy knocking. sound like it the knocking is in a circle. not constant. could it be a stuck lifter. Does anyone know of any products I can try befor I put out the money I can not afford to have a mechanic check it out. $85-125 to take a look. Thank you for the help on my last post. if you rev the motor up a way and let off on the throttle it will sound louder and engine slows down if its a rod. lifters will usually make more of a loud ticking noise. also with a rod knock it will get louder as engine warms up, lifters will get quieter as it warms up. if you took lower crank pulley off for any reason make sure those bolts are tight. if you are convinced its a rod knock you can always pull pan in the car and pull rod caps off to see what one is bad but if it does turn out to be a bad rod you might as well replace the motor

If it is a rod is there anything that I can do or put in the car to quiet it down til I can afford to have it fixed? And is it safe to still drive if it is getting louder. Just changed the oil. I had a problem with my fuel injector and it flooded the crank with gas so I had to drain and change the oil.

if its a rod knock nothing you can add will make it better. will just get louder till the rod come out the side of the engine
