hp estimate
i have an aem cai, dc sport 4-2-1 headers, and apexi world sport
exhaust on my 95 2.2L. i'd like to put on jacobs elec. ignition, venom injectors, fuel rail and regulator, high-flo cat, and venom400 module to reach my goal of 225 hp. is this realistic, and is there a cheaper way to get there(other than the obvious NOS)? thanx

Yes, I'm afraid that's unrealistic.
I'll assume you have an EX. Right now, you're probably dynoing around 130-138 hp. You might reach 150 with those mods, but even that's probably a bit optimistic. If you want 225 hp, you're going to need to look into a forced induction setup. Even an H22 with simple bolt-ons only dyno's around 170 hp.

d#$@ it.
i guess there really is no cheap way i would have figured you could at least get up to around 200hp. unfortunately,i dont have ready access to a dyno, but if i only have 130hp now, i'd love to punch it w/ 220

H22 170hp?
I think the H22 has 200hp stock. If you're looking for 225hp u should go with that. Thats the only way you're ever gonna get it. Probly cost about 3-4k, maybe less, depending on the miles on the engine.

i was under the impression that the 95 lx 2.2L had 135hp stock???? I'd think headers would add at least 7hp, cai 5hp, and catbact to add 5hp.
in my opinion these are possibly 1 or 2hp low, so according to my math, thats 152hp total. has anyone run their 95 2.2L on a dyno?

When Smitty was talking HP, he was talking about measuring on a dyno, which measures power to the wheels (crank hp minus drivetrain loss). His figures sounded good to me.
The H22 has about 200 hp at the crank btw, and 160-170 at the wheels sounds good. Eastern, I doubt you'll get that much hp from those mods... |
