1985 Towncar exhaust performance
Hello all, I just became the owner of a 1985 Lincoln TownCar with a 302 V8. I was wondering if anyone had split the exhaust and added a couple of flowmasters or something, and what kind of performance they got out of it. Also, I was wondering what Horsepower/Torque this engine churns out stock. Thanks in advance,

Hey Jon...
I don't have much experience with the 85 but I did notice a thread on Flowmasters running on another board Maybe you can post back here with your conclusions to keep this place active.

Hey Jon. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I've been told that the hp/trq numbers are actually pretty low. something like 150/150.

I can't open this site from the computer im on, but im pretty sure its the specs sheet that covers your motor. I know its something like HP- 160 Torque- 285 Also I just got a cat-back system put om my '89. It's a true-dual system with flowmasters...it sounds a lot like a 5.0 mustang but the stock headers are holdin it back from sounding real mean or loud. Putting on an exhaust system like that isen't really supposed to help out with horsepower but add some torque from what I understand .
