2000 Bonneville SSEI Transmission problem
Ok, I am new to the forums. I own a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI (supercharged). I have noticed that on acceleration that my trans feels like it might be trying to slip or possibly lightly slipping. The dealer says they can not find a problem. I had a friend that had the identical car and said a buddy of his working for a Pontiac dealer told him the tranny came from the previous years Gran Prix and that it wasnt built for the car with the supercharger which is why it was slipping on his car as well. He traded his in though. Anyone else have this problem or know a way to fix it?
Thanks! |

Re: 2000 Bonneville SSEI Transmission problem
The Gran Prix tranny will not go in a Bonneville. It is missing a mount that only the Bonneville has.
If you have traction control, turn it off and try again. If you still feel a slipping, try it in 1st gear (not drive). Does it still slip now? If it doesn't slip when in 1st, but does in drive, check your throttle position sensor for a dead spot. |
