selling GTP whats your thought??

I love my car I just need something bigger...What price should I start at.

It's a 2000 GTP
79,000 miles
4 door, loaded, tint, great condition (inside and out) remote start, lots of tread on tires, burgundy, with charcoal leather.

I've looked at the NADA and Kelley Blue Book, talked to a friend who is in the car business and he is saying $6500.00........I thought he was crazy. Just wondered what your thinking or what values I could go by.

Thanks alot,
Gina

Look in the paper and see what others are going for. BTW did you get your door lock situation figured out.

Re: selling GTP whats your thought??

That's what your "friend" will give you for a trade in. I wouldn't sell my 98 GTX for that. I would start at $8,000.00 and go from there.
Good luck

I'm new here. Gina B. what part of the country are you located in? I'm looking for a nice car to buy for our son to drive (or maybe for me, if it's nicer than the one I have now). Also, what was the problem with the door lock? Just curious.

Re: selling GTP whats your thought??

Like Kid said I would start at $8 to $8500 and put OBO and see.
GP GTP are a very popular cars and it should probably go relatively quick.

I live in northern Indiana...(Notre Dame) I've been checking around at dealers and the local papers and noticed that they are listed between $9000. and $9800. Don't know if they are selling yet at that price but I will be watching.

Northern Indiana
My door locks work fine... I have 2 small girls I for safety reasons I wamted them to engage into the lock postion when pulled out of park. It was just a programming thing!

Re: selling GTP whats your thought??

I checked Kelley Blue Book "private party sale", and it says your car is worth $8,900 if a coup w/o sunroof, or $9,100 with sunroof. If it's a 4-door, then it's 9,200 w/o sunroof and $9,400 with sunroof. The value also fluctuates by about $100.00 if you have the bose stereo system. Unfortunately, that figure does not factor HUD, tints, or remote start.
I hope this helps.

www.edmunds.com is a great site for figuring out what your car is worth. They even have a link so that you can list your car in AutoTrader.

Re: selling GTP whats your thought??

Warrior.
$10,000.00 sounds like a good price, but...
Five year old car, 79000 miles, GTP, yea maybe. If the car has been babied like mine. Never been over 140, never red lined it. By the way, my $8,000.00 was for my GTX.
Gina, your car is worth more then your friend wants to give you. Maybe he wants the car for himself. Doesn't sound like a "friend".
Goodluck
God moring Cass. Working hard?

Just remember it is always better to shoot high and come down then to shoot low and come out with regret!

Re: selling GTP whats your thought??

Good one Jeff. I always start in the middle and work my way from side to side. I may want to run for office one day.
