86 Mustang Speakers

Does anyone know the speaker sizes for an 86 GT, esp. the rears. The rear panels in mine are all messed up and i cant tell what size they are supposed to be, 5x7, 6x8, 6x9 etc. i think i have 3.5s in the front?? but im not sure, if someone could please inform me about such things, it would be greatly appriciated

no one knows? i mean im sure i could ghetto rig any size in, but i want it to look good, and i dont want to end up with ones that dont quite fit right. no one with a 79-86 out there to tell me?

thats where i get all my stuff from, but im a little disinclined to beleive them on the sizes they say, since they claim there are kick panel speakers in my car, and there are none. so far all i know are i think there are supposed to be 6x8 in the rear, and thats what im going with, oh well if they dont quite fit, ill make them fit

nope, as far as i know the 79-86 didnt have door speakers, ive never seen door panels with em, and i know cause i need new ones anyway

If you pull the door panel off, you will still see an opening that can hold a 6 1/2" speaker in there. 87+ started using these spots, but not on all models. My GT had them, but my LX does not. Depends on the options.

ok thanks alot, its hard to find correct info about this out there. so im just going to cut some custom holes in the doors and forget about the dash speakers, theyre useless being that small.
