'95 SSEI Beware of the BEAST

Love my car, big, bossy, and it's a BEAST. Almost 150K and still kicking some butt. Recently, I've noticed a strange smell after about a 40 minute drive. It's like a faint burning smell like plastics are heating up. The smell exists inside the car as well as under the hood. Took it to a national muffler shop to check exhaust/converter. They said it was OK, no problems. One guy was interested in buying the car on the spot, but, I happily declined. Don't know what to do, there is really no problems with the car. The only thing I've noticed is a little hesitation going up hills, but, the boost comes in great afterwards. Was wondering if anyone had something to share on this before I go to a repair shop and see what they say. Thanks

Only thing I can think of is maybe your water pump is leaking....but that would smell more like maple syrup.

the only thing I can think is if you recently had plug wires replaced cuz that will sometimes smell and get into the heater..... other than that check wiring under hood and make sure nothings heating up I doubt this will help though...
