87 Conquest TSi Test drive with 3" exhaust

Hey guys, I use to own a 87 Conquest TSi way back when...

For some reason (Must be the sexy body) I am thinking of getting another...

This example I test drove yesterday had about 108k miles, pretty clean car in & out...

It had a nice intake (K&N cone type) and a full 3" exhaust from the Turbo back (No cats) to what looks like a flowmaster muffler...(It was very quiet)

It fired right up and ran pretty strong but...I thought it should have been even stronger...

It didn't smoke at startup or during full throttle...

Is a full 3" exhaust too much? would it get better response from a 2.5"?
It had a mechanical boost controler and an aftermarket Boost gauge that read 10 PSI...

It also has the 1st Gen Eclipse MAS on it...

Seems like my old stock 87 ran as strong or close to it as this one did?
Thanks for any imput!

Re: 87 Conquest TSi Test drive with 3" exhaust

Oh, I forgot...He says its got a exhaust manifold leak...I couldn't hear it from there, but I saw another place where the Turbo bolts to the exhaust pipe where it looks like it leaks a little there too...
Am I getting a true reading of 10 PSI? or is it taking longer to spool because of the 3" exhaust AND the 2 area's where its leaking?
Thanks again!
