College... EVO VII... or Both?

By the time I get my EVO VII I'll be a year into college. What I'm wondering is if I can afford it. My mom was all "why are you thinking of getting this car when you should be worrying about college?" I'm just asking ya'll for some opinions as to what I should do? Any input is highly appreciated. -Shaun

No, this isn't a joke. I'm sure some of you have been faced with the same problem... I'm definitely getting the car, sooner or later, but i'm wondering if I would be able to do "sooner" and what suggestions you guys have... Thanks

here's my next though... give me some suggestions according to this one...

I work at the Mariott and they pay for a little bit of my college tuition. If I take my core classes at a community college, i could pretty much have that all paid for. SO... i could get the car and take core classes for 2 years then transfer to a 4-year university to finish it all up... that's an idea.. wat do u think?

Try to find a college with like 10% guys and 90% girls. Find a girl friend there who has $$$ and talk her into buying the car. Sell the fact that it has AWD (good in the snow) and has good ABS.

D6Syxx: I'd appreciate it if you can bind your threads, for instance your (few questions) one and this one, you could of placed them together.

The reason being is that we have way too many threads that die after a few days and just rack up space, thats all.

I will actually make an announcement about this, your not the only one that does this, but your a newbie here so your ok

dude listen if you are going to college focus on that. Think rationally, do you have the money for college? if so, will you have enough for books, expenses and so forth. After all of that, do you have money for a 30,000 car? insurance? I dont think you need the car right away. Why dont you accumulate some money and than when you have a solid amount make your decision. Dont screw your earnings and life up for a car.

Opened myself to you, only to have the door shut. trapped in seclusion, inside this enclosure i find the real meaning of loving myself. Hurt from the force of your attack, but no more, never again. I would have given the world to you, but you were just too good for that. You brush me off and i only try harder, yet i refuse to be a part of your game this time. I dont hear you, your words, invisible, nothing but space to my eyes. You extend your hand, but i pretend not to see it, just like you pretended not to acknowledge me. Life sucks, thank you for making mine all the more clearer. Welcome to my world.

BlackevoVII: welcome back, nice to see you again

Oh yeah by the way, mate Study comes first.. then you'll get enough money to buy an Evo VIII or whatever comes next.

Get your priorities right, Shaun... I want an EVO VI badly, but im doing my education first, so in 2 yrs time i'll be able to pay the bastard off, in price, petrol and all the maintenance involved.

Evos are expensive, but wonderful cars that need special TLC. (tender loving care) its not ur everyday crappy sedan..

SO SCHOOL FIRST!

Seriously....I'm not even kidding. Just 'cause I'll be in a ****load of debt after I get out of college that makes me dumb....not really.

I'm a Music Major....I'll probably be making no $$$ with the job I want....does that make me stupid?

I say live life to it's fullest. I'd rather be in a ****load of debt, have an Evo, and have a sweet job, than have a ****load of $$$ and have a job where I work in a cubicle all day.

Uhhh...

If you're seriously asking this question... I'm kind of wondering what kind of college accepted you.
Heh.. all in good humor. But seriously, college first. a car is nice... but it is temporary. Sooner or later a new car will come out, or a nicer one, or you'll get tired of it. But an education will last much longer. Get an education, make big $$$, and you can buy 30 Evos.

Hmmm.... Well I got a sweet job out of HS. I am a CSA/NSA/Web Developer/etc etc for a Honk Kong based company with over 500 employees in the division I work in. I am 23 yrs old. If you happen to land a good job out of HS, make sure you follow up and take some courses related to your field. I dont believe in going to a 4 year college unless you absolutly have to and are dead set on a career that requires it. Most do not. Granted, I may make a few k less than a degreed employee on the same job, but I am 100% debt FREE. Beside, in a few years when work experiance overcomes the lack of formal education, I will be in the same payscale as everyone else. (plus all that I have saved by not paying for college) I have friends who are paying off college still and don't have any money left over. Must be fun. My wife and I combined earn 6 digits

Oh yeah...My company allows me to take 4 hours a week off payed to go to school for my posisition

My field is online production/web design whatever you like to call it and im not doing Uni/College either, its simply too expensive and I choose not to be paying it back for the next 5 years.

Rather, i've chosen to do a lower degree course(s) which in the end I will have the same level of qualifications as a uni/college student, without the payments for the next 5 years.

So in 2.5 yrs, Come to 'papa EVO
