Hey everyone,
I have a 2000 Jetta that I have had for over 4 years. I have noticed over the last few months that whenever my fuel tank gets low, the performance of my car drops significantly. I pretty much have no accelaration, especially on inclines. I have noticed at times, that my car will jump when I am accelerating, however, not enough to lurch forward and hit another car but enough that it is noticable. After I fill it up, it drives perfectly fine. I just had my 30,000 mile check up in August and do regular maintinance on the car. I have spoken to a few people and they have suggested perhaps there maybe water in my fuel tank, clogged fuel filter or a faulty emissions chip. Any ideas? PS. I also have this yellow oily discharge that is constantly leaking from my door hinges, even after I wash my car and wipe it off, it comes back. I haven't noticed any issues with my doors, other than, it looks gross having this stuffed caked on there. Any ideas what that could be as well? Any information is appreciated. |

I think...
I would say itīs the fuel pump. When the gas level gets too low it starts letting air pass through the gas lines. once you fill up the tank the problem is gone. Have to change that pump soon.
