Damned Cluster

I looked through a lot of old posts and couldn't find the info im looking for. I swapped my cluster out and I have been told the Tach doesn't work because it's for the wrong year so I have to rewire or find another cluster. Anyone know where to get directions for that? Or if there is a cluster with a Tach for an 88 civic, hatch?

Re: Damned Cluster

It would be much easier to find a Si tach for an 88-89 than trying to rewire it.

Re: Damned Cluster

Alright, once more. An 88-89 gauge cluster (any model type) will work if the year of your car is an 88-89. Vis versa for the 90-91. U can't swap the years. There used to be a good wiring guide on 4thgenerationcivic.com but now it's gone.

Re: Damned Cluster

It's for the 88-89, so as long as you have the 88 or 89, it should work just fine! Just bolt right in and plug right up! I do like it, though.

Re: Damned Cluster

Yeah, that's an 88-89 so it will work for sure. I'm driving around with a crx cluster in mine too. It's all good my friend.

It's just odd..because aside from the SI and the different back..the cluster looks just like the one I put in..but I need to take a closer look maybe.

Re: Damned Cluster

The four screws and the different redline should give the year away.
