Got a new car last night. 300ZX

Teh Car Club needed a project car, and we narrowed down our choices of what we wanted to build to a Drifter.

Well at the car show on Saturday, I met a guy who had been trying to sell a 300zx for quite some time. So, I went to drive it last night and found not many, but a few things wrong with it mechanicly. (Linkage on clutch going bad, needs new rotors, and ther suspention is SHOT)

Well I offered him $3000 for it and he took it after ALOT (and I mean ALOT) of thought. I didn't have my camera with me. I will get pics of it today and post them later.

Basicly the purpose of this thread is to share my joy and ask if anybody has had any experieince with this car. Any info is appriciated.

-Brian

Half the price comes from the paint. It's painted in Reflux Purple which is the color changing paint that comes on the Tuscan Cars.

I still say it was to much, hell you dont need a car to look pretty to be fast...I would have said, "congratulation buddy you wasted your money on paint, now take your loss and be done with this car."

It's probably going to cost them more than 1500 in the long run if they want to make it a performing car.

NA. 3.0 Liter Non Turbo. We are looking into doing a swap. We have a place that can get us an RB26 Crate.

As for "waste of money..." I have WELL more than enough money to buy anything I want for this car. I've already ordered the TEIN Damper kit and Brembo Brake kit for this car. It's a project car for the club.

I can't wait to see the pics! $3,000 is a great price for a 300ZX.

Congrats on the new car!

Running order isnt that bad. The car still has all the balls it began with. Just rides rough and Clutch has trouble dissengaging accasionaly. I will say this, it does drive well sLideways in a Lowes parking lot.

What kind of 3000gt? Vr-4, SL, or base...got any more specifics? What plans do you think you'd have for that?

-15Gs, 3sx aluminum pulley, FMIC, SAFC, walboro pump, EVO 560ccs, and Meth Injection Kit all waiting to go in shortly.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

What I know about it is that it's a N/A version and it's Front Wheel Drive. I don't know much about these cars but I do know that the VR4 is hte AWD version.

We're not sure what we're going to do with it yet. I was thinking a turbo upgrade and run the piss out of it at the track. I need to do more research on both cars to be able to make accurate statements about them. Since I am aware you are a 3000 owner, what is you opinion?

I have heard that the swap on those are a bitch, and it would be easier to just get a VR4...but you did say you had more than enough money to do whatever, so go with the turbo bro!

G/L with the ZX too....just thinking of a crate RB26 makes me cream my pants...PICS MAN! For the love of god pics! Hah.
