auto/manual conversion??

hey guys, i have a 1969 mustang mach 1. it has the automatic c-4 tranny and i am going to switch if out a tremec tko 500 5-speed i have a 351w engine and threw jeg's the whole conversion kit will be $3,100. if i have to i will purches the whole thing but i was wondering if there is a way for me to mix and match some parts out of a junkyard, or something? say like a belhousing or stuff like that. and i was wondering if anyone here has done this or something similar to this or know of anyone who did this and if any of you guys have any sujestions on how i should go about doing this please voice them. thanks alot lucas.

yo lucas im not good at this kind of stuff cus i have never done it, if u got the big bucks I say buy the thing, im sure u got to get a lot of things from junkyards and im sure when ur done getting them the time it took you to find the parts, to take them off and to bring them home, and the price of the parts and all that stuff im sure is gonna be real expensive, in my opinion i say buy it
