just thought i'd share a story, i've owned fieros for about 10 years now, and i love'em. today i attempted to takeout the motor from my 87 2m4, it was my first time doing this, when i looked at it a week ago, it seemed soooo easy, an few bolts a few wires, etc and out!!!, man was i wrong, i had a problem with every bolt on the cradle, and the worst thing, i was so eager to take the motor out, i forgot to unhook alot of things, first was a few wires, then the lower coolant line, and the worst thing of all, i completly forgot to unhook the flex hoses and e-brake cable from the back brakes, and at this point the car was already lifted (Cherry-picker hoist in my garage) I've never seen brake flex hoses strech out like that, i couldn't beleive they didn't break.... i wonder if i've weakend them now and may brake later on

Re: I'm a horrible fiero mechanic
Unless you're paid to do the same stuff over and over in a shop 5 days a week, mistakes will happen. Take for example, my friend Brian, who made a mistake putting together his $3000 Dodge 440 six pack and threw a rod a few days later, wrecking the block, crank, and several other costly forged bottom end parts. There's no need to be so hard on yourself... if you look on the bright side, now you have an excuse to upgrade those ugly rubber hoses with some nice stainless steel braided ones.

Wanted to buy: 86-88 Fiero GT, 5 speed, fixer-upper. Blown motor, no motor? No problem! Rusty unibodies need not apply. 74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!! 3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L) Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
