Oil
I have a 1996 Jetta with a 2.0 litre. I want to change it to Mobil1 10-30. Should I go right away and put that in or should I put a semi-synthetic in first b4 M1? This car has 124k miles.

Re: Oil
I might get flak, but I'm not a big fan of synthetic oil in older engines. If you have any little leaks now they will be big leaks with synthetic. I'd use a high quality petroleum oil & change it regularly (and save the money). It's proved well in both my A2's (GTI & Diesel) which have 250K & 300K miles.
