brakes
You asked about brakes, the subject line says REAR BRAKE upgrade... 70% of the braking force is up front. I am going to be adding a larger than stock rotor package on my 03 Yukon. I think BREMBO makes a kit which includes larger diameter rotors and adapters to use the stock brake calipers. I think that would give the biggest advantage with the least amount of $$$ etc. Has anyone installed one of these BREMBO kits or perhaps another brand? I am a BREMBO dealer, for motorcycle parts, but I can order up anything that BREMBO makes for auto, motorcycle etc. Looking for feedback as well, thanks!

I'm interested in rear disc brake setup
My 99 has drum brakes on the rear. I would prefer to change them to disc if a good package/price was available.

akey brakey
Oh yeah, my 03 has disks on all 4 corners. Now I get it with the rear upgrade question... Anyways, I will be going to some larger dia rotors all the way around sometime once I figure it all out.

Bevl Hvn--you're right, Brembo does offer brake upgrade kits for our trucks; they have a partial kit (14" rotors, pads, and--I think--SS brake lines only) and a full kit (similar to partial but also includes larger 4-piston calipers; there is also a 15" full kit--front only--which comes w/ either 4- or 8-piston calipers).
Unless money is no object, there is at least one reason why you should consider only the front kit--on our GM NBS fullsize trucks/SUVs, the full rear kit costs almost $500 more than the full front kit... |
