sunroof issues

I have a 98 rodeo LS with a sunroof. Whenever I shutdown the car, the sunroof automatically closes, even if I have it up in the vent position. Is there anyway to stop this thing from closing?

Thanks

Re: sunroof issues

Sounds to me that there is an aftermarket alarm with window modules in your car. You can try disabling this unit.

Re: sunroof issues

no aftermarket alarm at all... actually i can't even operate the sunroof unless the Engine is On. I can't leave the key in the On position either.
Weirdest thing over the weekend was that when i shut off the car, the stupid thing opened into the vent position and I didn't even touch it!

Re: sunroof issues

The wifes 2000 operates the same way, key off, sunroof closes. Only way around it is to rewire it. Personally I lkie it this way, won't get soaked inside if it rains and she leaves it open by mistake.
