2001 Grand AM SE Radio Question

All,

I was wondering if someone can answer a question for me about the stock radio monsoon sound system in my car.

It seems when I am driving, every once in a while, the volume drops out,(not completelt, just about half) and I do not think that it is due to interference or anything like that. And after a minute or two, it goes back to the normal volume.

I am sure it is just something i am missing, but does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

M..........

You may have speed sensative volume controlls if the engine notices your accelerating it will make the radio quiter as you do so. Ask your dealer if this feature is present in your stock sterio.

question.....????

What is speed sensitive volume controls and what is this feature for? It turns down the volume when you accelerate the car? That is a strange feature and for the life of me, I can not understand the purpose of this feature.

Thanks for any more info,

M............

I have the same car....read the manual and it tells you how to turn it off. What the feature is for is say you're driving down the interstate at 70 miles an hour and you can't hear the radio due to the noise from driving so fast. This feature will automatically turn the volume up and when you slow down, it adjusts the volume again. See what i'm saying? My car isn't here right now or I would go out and lok at it and tell you exactally what to do.

Thanks a bunch for the info, I'll grab my manual when I go home tonight and check out how to turn it off, (cause at 70 MPH or 30, it is pretty quite inside),

Thanks again for the info, I'v only had the car for a week and I was thinking that maybe something was wrong.
