would you recommend an expedition

I have been in love with the look, the style and just the way the truck drives...My dad keeps telling me that its a gas guzzler and a waste of money to buy something that big. If i get one it will be the middle of next month. Would the group recommend me purchasing one and if so should i start at a certain year because of manufactoring problems...

Expeditions have been on the market long enough that if you take your time and look, you wil find a good ride at a great price. I have the 99 that I purchased in 03 with 58K miles on it. Now driving around with 82K. I have had minimal problems other then brakes and rotor. Gas mileage is not the greatest but the comfort luxary out wieghs the cons. It handles great and is well built! It will be my next vehicle as well.
