no it's not possible. you can only match the same series of motors. D-series with d-series and b-series with b-series only.

Re: D16 bottom, B18 top

I've heard that the ZC dohc will work on it, but that motor only has maybe 2 more hp than your current motor does so it wouldn't be worth having to change your motor from OBD2 (which it is now) to OBD0 (pre-'92 motor).

NO DOHC head can bolt to a SOHC bottom without some serious fabrication and modification. it's not possible as a bolt on. sorry bro! Won't work with the SOHC being the top and the DOHC being the bottom either.

Has it ever been done. DOHC head on SOHC block? Does anyone know.
I know it's impossible as a bolt on, but has anyone actually done the serious fabrication to do it.

After a question like that being asked, I can deem that you, sir, need to be nowhere NEAR an engine with a tool of any kind, save a camera... and even with that you should be supervised.

... are you drunk?

And I *was* being helpful in my own little sarcastic and cynical way... so he doesn't know jack about engines... not everyone is born knowing cars... but that said, he doesn't need to be doing things like head swaps when he doesn't know enough about blocks to know something that easy. I wouldn't even trust him to change my oil.

Re: D16 bottom, B18 top

Where did all these overly sensitive people come from all of the sudden? When I first joined these forums I ask unbelievably stupid questions and gave stupid answers (like how the difference between a 4-1 and 4-2-1 header was the firing order of course that's not what I ment but I said it). I got ripped apart like crazy a few times, still occasionally do. But did I complain about it? No, I took everyones opinions and comments with a grain of salt. Everyone here needs to learn to not be so damn sensitive and uptight about things, brush it off. Maybe they should ask their family or friends to give them more hugs or something...sh*t.
