Question I sure could use some advice

I own a 76 320i and the engine is trashed.... I bought a 78 engine that is in good condition, but am a little anxious over the sensors... I have been told that the sensors and the controller are different on the 78...
Has anyone here upgraded a 76 with a newer engine and if so what problems did you have with the sensors, etc?

Any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
