Re: How to clean my gun

Depends on the paint. If its lacquer or urethane, a bunch of lacquer thinner will do it. After I've cleaned it with lacquer thinner I'll usually do a final clean up with Windex.

I use wd40 a coat hanger and a little piece of rag. Spray it in the barrel and plunge the coat hanger with the rag on it. Im sure they sell cleaning rods and cloths at gun shops why dont you get one I use it and it beats having the rag fall off the coat hanger. After I plung it and the cloths dont turn so black it is clean and ready for a couple rounds to get rid of the rest of the crap inside it. For cleaning the outside metal polish and if you have a wood butt wood polish like pledge. Theres lot of other ways you can clean it. Gun Blue is a good way to redarken a gun metal finish. Metal polishes are good for polished barrels. Plastic/rubber butts can be rejuvenated with most vinyl dressings. Some guns require regreasing in the moving parts , sewing machine oil is great for relubing those. Tons of ways. Spit and a rag even like the old days. Disassebly reassembly cleaning is best.
