Crank but no Start
Car: 1987 Nissan Maxima. Alright, I will try to go as in depth as I can to what led up to the problem and what I have done so far so that narrowing it down might be easier. After finishing an oil change I drove my car down my block and it died at the end of the road. I tried to start it again, to no avail. Next day I had someone jump start the car and it kicked right up, so I turned it around and headed back to my house, but when I got to the speed bump it died on me again so I coasted down the street to my driveway. I opened the hood and saw a little smoke coming from two places, my positive battery terminal, and my wiring harness. Now the wiring harness is the interesting part of my stupidity. I did some work before that required taking the timing belt cover off, and I never got around to putting it back on. It was off for about a year. It finally proved that I shouldn't have had it off. The wiring harness slipped down against it while the car was moving and cut through two wires and shorted them. I followed the wires and they went to my Crank Angle Sensor. I repaired the wiring harness and checked that the repair was good. So the wiring no longer is of issue. I tried to fire her up, but it only cranks, does not fire. So my first reactions were to test, spark, and fuel. Well when I turned my car on to the "ON" position, I could hear my fuel pump operate like normal. I then jumped to checking the spark, via using a timing light on the primary wire going to my distributor. No spark. I replaced the Ignition Coil + Power transistor, and I also changed my Distributor in the case that the Crank Angle Sensor was bad. After my battery died very quickly after charging over night, I went down to Kragen got it tested, and it was bad, so I bought another battery. Only difference is now the engine cranks stronger but still does not fire. I tried taking my distributor out and turning the rotor with the Ignition "ON" and the CAS connected to listen for the injectors. Yet again, no injectors either. My main thought at this moment is I either blew something in my ECU (Which my ECU does not register a "Bad ECU" code) or I blew a main ground wire or something. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
