complete vtec engine swap having problems
I have just gotten finished swapping my 93 h23a for a 01 h22a and had a good mechanic that was a family friend to it for me. Problem is he's not familiar w/ hondas but still did swap for cheap and everything is working well. Engine runs great only problem is he could not figure out a way to use 01 wiring harness to hook up w/ my 93 so my instrument panel would light up. Instead of using ecu off of 01 he kept my 93 ecu.
so now to the point.... Vtec does not kick in and i think it is b/c my ecu is not vtec compatible...am i right? next question...how do i get vtec to work and am i hurting the engine driving it w/ out vtec working? |

Aight that's what i thought...thanks...and yeah id be interested but when i bought the engine to begin w/ it came w/ everything, engine, transaxles, transmission, wiring harness, ecu, etc. I got a really good deal on it too. Like i said engine came out of a 2001 that had been wrecked 4 months after it was bought from the dealership and engine only has 5,000 miles on it. Got whole package for $2500 and thats cheaper than some prices i found on engines w/ 50-100k miles on them.
I might know someone who wants to buy that ecu from you tho. Give me the link to your ebay item and i'll let him see it |
