Hello to all readers of this forum!
I come here with a few questions and maybe i cn find some answers. Not too long ago i had a very good occasion to buy an F22 engine and auto tranny with very low miles (around 40k) and i got them. My car is a 95 accord LX with an f22b2 non vtec engine and has around 150K miles. The car itself is in outstanding shape. I have bought the new motor and tranny with the intention of making a little turbo project out of them. So far i bougt: - f22 engine and auto tranny - DSM 450cc injectors - garrett t25 turbo and manifold - some gages (oil press, boost press, air-to-fuel ratio) Soon to buy: - Apexi safc II - intercooler - other stuff necessary to complete the setup I'm pretty sure that a lot of you guys out there will tell me that this configuration sucks (f22 engine, not really a race type and.... auto tranny) but before you start i would like to say that i'm really lookin to get something like 220hp out of it, not more than that... It will be for daily driving, not for racing. The only reason i started this project is because i had the chance to get the motor and tranny for cheap. What i would like to know is if anyone has any suggestions or ideas related to this project, please post them here, so i can learn something new and the other readers can learn something new. Also, if you think that this combination is a really bad idea, please let me know... i really don't want to waste my time just to see some fireworks. I am really good with electronics and mechanics, so advanced stuff is no problem for me. I am going to be doing the whole setup. Thank you in advance for any advice! |

Re: Accord F22 turbo How-to
I've seen a few accord turbos. I'm not turbo, eventually though. I have a ton of turbo f22 pics. Do you know how to post? I'll put them up.

It really depends on how much boost you throw @ it. Don't put high boost on that stock motor or you can kiss it goodbye.
Run it on low boost, no more than 8psi max. However, an F22 has weak cylinder walls, so keeping it around 6psi should give you a safer set-up with less risk, and a happier motor. With a GT25 turbo, low boost shouldn't be a problem, as thats what the turbos made for. I'd keep it to 6psi with an F22, if you really want to push and tune it maybe 8psi, but don't push it. Better safe than sorry IMO. Look @ it this way, most of the "safe" bolt on kits for that motor run it around 6psi, not 8 psi like with some of the b-series motors in the civic adn tegs. Still, 6psi will give you a nice kick, and that turbo should spol quick and not have much lag. You should be happy.
