Re: 93 escort fuel press reg location

Found the location.
Replaced it.
made the engine run better, but did not fix the problem.

If I drive on hwy at sustained speed of 60mph or better, after .5 miles the engine starts to run rough
I am thinking that it is running out of fuel.
I have replaced
fuel filter
O2 sensor
fuel press regulator

Fuel pump sounds steady when turning key to on posistion with engine off.
The fuel pump runs for about 1 - 2 seconds
I also get check engine light when at hwy speed.
light stays on until engine is shut off.
when restarting, check engine light is off.

Codes are
172
122
412

1.9 liter
auto trans

what next?

Double or even triple check your vacum lines I spent over a hundred dollars on different codes and then found a vacum line that had broken completly off.

Find out what the code's mean.

The 1.9 has had problmes with the intake gasket making a vacume leak after time.

Codes 122 and 412 are pointing to your TP sensor. I had this problem and replacing the sensor worked. Sensor is about $35. In the case of code 172, Lack of oxygen sensor switching. Might be reading bad due to TP sensor. I also agree to check for vacuum leak at intake manifold.
