Yokohana Geolander AT

My stock 2003 Xterra SE V6 4X4 came with BF Goodrich 265/70/16 tires. I have installed Yokohama Geolander AT 265/75/16 tires.

Although the ride, off road performance etc is excellent. I am wondering if I did the right thing by changing the size from a 70 to a 75.

I also would like some help in re-calibrating the speedometer. According to the GPS I am showing about 6 miles less when I am actually doing 80 miles on the GPS.

Thanks.

Yes, the size increase will look good and give about 1/2" extra clearance off-road.

For the speedo, there is no fix, at least one that is remotely worth the cost. If you want to shell out a few hundred dollars, I'm sure a solution could be found, but if you know it's reading a few MPH fast, just keep that in mind and drive on...

This site will give you a good idea of how far off you are at various speeds.

Yokohamas...

I recently got some Yokohama Geolander HT's to replace the stock tires and the difference is night and day! I got the 265/70/15's and these tires are everything they're billed to be. Handling and ride are much better. For the price, I don't see how you can beat them. Much less than the comparable Michelins.

Re: Yokohana Geolander AT

I'd like to hear a update on the Yokohama Geolander AT 265/75/16 tires. Who has had them for a while? I'm considering these because I only do light off road until I ad a few more mods on the xterra.

For a fix it wouldn't cost that much. You could just print up a speedometer background with the correct offset. I've seen people do it for riced out cars and such.
