Question Suspension ? : Frame Locks

So I'm readin the September issue of Honda tuning, and see these things in there by a company by the name of Korbach Performance, called frame locks.

the idea is, that they are a better brace between your front bumper beam and you frame rails. Their explanation is that the "2.5mm flanges" that hold the two together now, cause enough vibration in the front end to cause poor handling and an unstable ride (bumpy and jittery).

So, being on a current suspension rampage on my car (just dropped a bagillion on Eibach ProKit Springs, KYB AGX's, Nuespeed rear tie bar, and generic upper rear strut brace (already have the front upper)) what do you guys think of these frame locks? My brother (a Jeep guy) has honored their idea for off roading to stiffen the chasis - another claim for these on hondas, that the locks take the bumper beam and solidify it to the fram enough to be a structural support (like a third tie bar way up front)

anyone have these? seen them? any experience? They sound pretty cool, and are goin for $195 through October - after that up to $245
links below

OH yeah, AND - they are only available right now for the '96-00 Civic (sorry all you 4th, 5th, and 7th gen'rs out there)

The article was called "Brace Yourself" in the 'Wrenchin' department

Re: Suspension ? : Frame Locks

I'm still kinda skeptical about them. Lots of info and reviews by people on ClubSi.com

I keep asking for some performance numbers, but no one has done it yet.

Yeah, and see that is the cause of my skepticism. The reviews are "wow! these things are great! It felt like a totally different car!" But where are the skidpad numbers? What are the "G's"?

moreover, I think for a couple bucks at home depot and a basic knowledge of welding you could fabricate your own for a significantly lower cost than the current $195 or soon to be $245 - and potentially improve on the product with a greater spance of support, maybe even lighter materials.

Right you hear all the time about this exhaust is so great. Dyno it and you get 2hp. So the butt dyno is not that great of a measuring tool.

Yes, I'm replying to an old post - I started the thread. It's better than re-posting.
That said:

WELL!?!?!?!?! Anyone tried these things yet? Any buyers out there? Any buy them and really test them out. My suspension is pretty well topped for what I want except for these things...hence the continue questioning

Re: Suspension ? : Frame Locks

its a scam in my book the "locks" are on such small lil chunks of metal can't help at all.

All the reviews sound very staged i can't explain it too well but it was shreaded by some very knowagble people. After reading it i agree that its a joke and a sway bar set is a better way to spend 300

Re: Suspension ? : Frame Locks

Honda-tech has a couple reviews on there, some of the prototypes for testing before sales to the public. I remember reading something about the possibility of it setting off your airbags if you hit a curb or big pot hole, though apparently it hasn't happened yet. I'll look for some links about it...
