Adire components, yes or no?

Hi guys, I've been doing a lot of research car audio while looking for systems. I was bent on getting the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Component system but I heard the name Adire from a lot of people. Their Koda component system is supposedely a LOT better as stated by many people over the internet. Does anyone agree with this or disagree? I am very interested in Adire now, so any comments would be appreciated either way.

By the way, I want pure sound quality in my system. I want it to sound clear and crisp, nothing boomy or showy. I wanna hear Maynard breathe while he sings. Thanks for the help in advance.

-Mike

Re: Adire components, yes or no?

Kodas are vastly superior in every way that I'm aware of, provided they're being put into an adequate install. Lots of deadening on the doors, plenty of clean power available, etc.

They're also 3" deep, definitely check if your car can handle speakers that deep (remember most of the time you can use a spacer to gain a little depth).

Alright, thanks a lot.

How do I check the door depth on a '98 Acura 2.3CL? And how much does door deadening material go for? I just got a new head unit and the doors are already a little shaky.

Re: Adire components, yes or no?

the easiest way to find your door depth is to find a forum for your car, go to the audio section, and see if there's a sticky at the top with all that info. If there's not then just run a search on that forum or ask one of the prominent members there and I'm sure you'll find out pretty quickly.

As for the deadening, around 20sqft per door would be optimal, this would run you somewhere around $50-80 and will get you 2 layers on the door skin and 2 layers on the door panel (the part the speaker is actually mounted to). Also, what amp are you planning on running these with?

50-80 dollars for the deadening material per door? or total?

I was looking to run a JL 300/2 for the Adire's. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot for the quick responses.

Re: Adire components, yes or no?

50-80 total, as long as you go with something other than dynamat
I like secondskin personally, other good choices are brownbread, b-quiet, rammat, and edead

a 300/2 would be a nice choice, there are a bunch of others but it depends on how much you want to spend

Okay sounds good. I think I'm gonna go with the JL amp...I really like their stuff.

However, I am a bit worried about the mounting depth of the speakers. I know the Adire's go very deep and I am not sure the depth of my car doors. I have an Acura 98' 2.3CL Coupe and from what I've heard, the door depth isnt too wide. I assume I would need a spacer of some sort...

Can anyone post pictures of what a spacer looks like on their car? Any other info is good too...Thanks.

Re: Adire components, yes or no?

I haven't made spacers yet and therefore my windows don't go all the way down spacers can be made unnoticed.

Re: Adire components, yes or no?

seal those holes bish

that's 90% of the reason why you deaden the doors in the first place, to separate the front and rear waves, the actual damping of the door doesn't do all that much except for decrease resonance and rattles.

Very cool, but I hope thats not what the door looks like when its finished. I assume the actual door panel goes over the metallic stuff so you dont see it. Does the spacer change the way the speaker sits at all? I assume it moves it out in the door panel. Let me know. Thanks guys.
