Re: 1/4 mile times

You can't possibly have street tires on that stang to run 13's with that setup, unless you are running at E-Town that is. On the Gtech Pro Competition i've done a 13.2 sec. 1/4 mile at 102 mph. That's with a 1.8 sec. 60'. Before some of the newer mods I ran a 13.6 sec. 1/4 mile at 101 mph against Danno SS.

Listing mods is pointless unless you have pics to back it up... in this case, I'm just going to assume that's bs... your profile says you got a Chrysler LHS, and you previously claimed you have an RX7.. now you say you have a stang?

He raced one from 95-00 he didn't say he has one now. And no, pics are not necessary if you know what he's talking about.

I haven't been to the drag strip in a long ass time. The last time I was at the strip was in my red 89 GTC and I managed a 14.6 @ 98 MPH.

Never tested my quarter times. Been to plenty of local drag strips, just haven't done it. I'm guessing I'm running 16's-17's though hah. Eventually I'll get that B20b with Type-R heads and I might do ok. As for now, the car is still stock, so I just haven't done it.

I do not own the RX-7, I inquired about the Tranny swap for a friend of my son who owns one with a burned up Auto Tranny and wants to put a 5 speed one in it's place. Yes I do own a 1994 Chrysler LHS, I also own a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby that my son is driving, and yes I have Drag Raced a 1979 Mustang for 5 years with the mods quoted and have run the times listed and in fact the car is still right down the street under a tarp. Also I do not recall the starter of this thread saying pics were required, only times were asked, also I do not recall seeing anywhere on this forum stating that it was a requirement to list each and every car I own or be labled a bs'r by someone who likes Beefcake (Assuming you do since that is your name). But! just because I'm a nice guy and have been asked for proof, below is a rather blurry pic of me standing with my race car, I'd show you a wheelie shot too but it is copyrighted by the Track Photographer that took it and I only have permission to use it on my web page and nowhere else. And if asked nicely I may provide a link to it but if "Beefy" still thinks I'm full of it then you know what, I really don't give a rats!

Look close enough and you can make out the numbers "S/S 9521" on the upper left corner of the windshield where S/S stood for "Super Street", Hmmm, isn't that the same number on my nick? Well I'll be!

That's cool man. Your 60 ft. times are as good as mine (car pictured: 406 SBC, stock block, steel crank, 10.5:1 pistons, have no idea what size roller cam it has now, just know its not as good as the one in our other engine, and it's a .640 lift, Victor Jr Intake, Holley Proform 750 cfm, Dart Pro 1 fully cut and race ported heads with filled in chambers (to make up for the flat top pistons), supposedly have 2.20 intake valves/1.60 exhaust-I say supposedly becasue this is what the guy at the shop told us it has, I for one didn't know you could put 2.20s in a small block, but since hte chamber is filled smooth, maybe he changed the valve angles, I was always under the impression that 2.08s were as big as you could go, Powerglyde transmission, .513 Richmond pro gear)

Now I'm not 100% about those heads, becuase long story short, we had a ton of problems with the bottom end of a 406 this shop overhauled for us this winter, so he gave us a short block and charged us for those heads, and they were already on the block, so none of us (my uncle-his car, dad, or me) have actually seen the back side of the heads. So they may or may not be filled in smooth with the exception of a spark plug hole.

Either way, the guy told us there wouldn't be much difference in this engine then the other engine (which has 12.5:1 double hump pistons, 5.7 in. steel rods, Allum. Dart II fully machined heads, 2.05 intake, 1.6125 exhaust valves, .640 roller cam, Holley Proform 850 cfm-also run the 750 sometimes-, victor jr. intake, steel crank), and there is only about a tenth or so difference in 330 ft (that's the distance we race, so i make the assumption that he must be partly telling the truth about the engine! lol).

Anyways, i told ya all of that to say your 60' times are as good as mine, lol, but I run 4.40s in 330 ft, and judging from past times at 1/8th mile tracks, would go 6.70s in the 1/8th.

Edit: I would like to see the link to your site, lol, always like looking at a good wheelie!

Re: 1/4 mile times

I dont know what my quarter mile time my car would get but I'm guessing it would probably be some where in the 18's or 19's. I wanna get my liscence so that I can go run my car at the track.
