Re: 1990 Jeep 4.0 Run Problem
I'am having the same thing goin on w/my1990 cherokee right now. About a year ago it would start , go to high idel then die. 4day in the shop and $230. later it was a $30. crank position sensor. I try to replace it my self but it still dies after high idel and is flashing a code 42 ?

Re: 1990 Jeep 4.0 Run Problem
found problem. It was the oxygen relay to the oxy temp senson in the intake manifold. I swith wires on the air cond. clutch relay and the oxy relay and she worked fine. I replaced the oxy relay and swithched the wires back and all is fine now.
Hope this helps you. The relays are by the battery. there are four of them. Switch wires with a known good one. ie. AC clutch. See ya, Jim |
