Thumbs down Replaced the headlight in my 2g today.

That is one crappy job. You can't get the bumper off without removing the light and you can't get the light off without removing the bumper. That lower screw from the front is a real biatch.

The other factor was that most of my bolts were badly rusted and some broke off out of the bumper cover. My drivers side was seriously fogged and had to go!

I did a search here and on Google and did not turn up anything useful. Anyone who plans to do this needs to allow lots of time and patience!

haha. yeah. when i was talking out my sidemount intercooler there was this one bolt right beneath the passenger side headlight, and i couldn't figure out how to take the headlight out. it was a pain in the ass.

It's on the inside of the light, so no you have to remove the light completely.

Re: Replaced the headlight in my 2g today.

No. if you mean by the condensation left in the inside of the lamp, there definately is an easier way of getting that out. All i did was take a funnel (very skinny one) and blow hot air through where the bulbs go....if you have a blow dryer that will work(I used an air compressor and then a blow dryer). Just keep blowing it for about half an hour...if it fogs again...do it again...it will take at most three tries... it only took me once....i did this on my friends' car as well and it works. It saves you all that hassle. The idea is to get the lamp dry enough so its not able to get moist again. The reason it being on there-i dont know, maybe from the radiator??? I really have no clue, but this does work!

actually, my 95 gs had that insane fogging crazing weird sh*t on the driver side headlamp, and nothing i used could get it off, and then my dad suggest this stuff called Flitz, its a metal polish and it worked like a charm..... i didnt have condensation on the inside, it was like the actual plastic had been corroded or abraded or something..... anyway flitz works great you can probably get it at a hardware store

Re: Replaced the headlight in my 2g today.

It was actually yellowed on the inside. No way to dry it because it's stained. Some dumb ass drilled holes in the passenger one. It has the moisture inside.

Re: Replaced the headlight in my 2g today.

The yellowing of the plastic is UV damage. The fogged look (not condensation) is on the outside. I can scratch through the fog on mine with my fingernail. I have a set of 97 headlamps and bumper cover, someday I may install them...

yes, we can. wrong thread.

I was a little too excited, sorry about that. Just made some profit on E-Bay. Got some other Altezzas (chrome) for $60 shipped. Sprayed em with Testors, and sold em for $140. Who da MANNN. (yeah... and all that dough is going towards my speed ticket budget)
