would a 289 fit in any mustangs?

I got an old 289 motor and old tranny out of a 68-69 Ford Galaxie and was wondering if it fit in a mustang or any other Fords or any other domestic cars

Re: would a 289 fit in any mustangs?

It will bolt right up to a 1964 1/2 - a 1966 mustang with the v8 saddles (motor mount pads). Not sure on the years but it will also fit a falcon, comet, galaxie, and a fairlane i beleave. Probably a few others as well. You could make it fit some of the newer cars too. I'm not sure but it will probably fit the 5.0 cars pretty good. I think 289 & 302 used the same block casting.

If you want to waste the money on custom modifications to the frame, firewall, ect ect. You will have to make your own motor mounts ect. Then you have to worry about the rest of your driveline. A C4 will not fit a TH350 crossmember.

The 302 and the 289 are the same block with different strokes.
