Re: wheel help... offset
42 sounds right... i don't see what you mean with FWD rim, i thought a rim was a rim as far as that was concerned???
I would recommend getting wider tyres on the back than the front, it will upset your handling otherwise. 5X114.3 is right stud pattern.... wheels look good... what else?

Re: wheel help... offset
On my MR2 I roll volk racing 205/35/18. These rims fit well under the car. So I dont see why you should have a problem with a 205/40/17. You might want to get the car lowered an inch or so. The tires I have are Falken ZE-512; before I had toyo tires and every time a bump was hit a dent was made in the rim! It cost alot of money to fix the rims and was a big head ache!

well i called gotwheelsandtires.com.. they told me an mr2 uses a fwd offset! that isn't true is it? It doesn't seem right to me. I really want these rims. I'm worried with a fwd offset tha the wheels mnight stick outta the fender in the front or something weird. ne how, is 42mm front and bakc offset close to what i need? sorry, i'm really confused. thanks, steve

Re: wheel help... offset
i've never heard of a FWD offset...42MM is the right offset, i think it is also used on the Supra.. yeah FWD...

Re: wheel help... offset
Thats a tyre size not a wheel size. but no there should be no probs, i have 205/50/16's on the front which come to the same size. lowered and no probs..
have ONCE heard a tyre clip something, but that was steering hard over a hard bump so... i think you will be fine. i have 225's on the back, make sure you get wider tyres for the rear! mine had spacer plates which someone took out along the way... so you may find that it came with them already???? anyone??

tire sizes
When i got my c91 mr2 it had 195/50/15 all around. I know that this sucks and i need wider tires at the rear. What is the widest tires that fit? i was thinking 205 up front and 225 in back is this right? Will need bigger rims too? if so what size? I need a set up that's good for auto cross.

hers what i'm gonan do. my tire and wheel package comes with 205/40/17's all around.. i'm gonna take the rear tires off the rims and keep em for another set of fronts, then just buy 2 new 225's just for the rear. Seems like a good idea to me.. i don't think ne wider than a 225 if its a 7.5' wide rim to answer u're ?

ive got 205 front 225 rear.
