Angry Sound System Problems

I just bought a 95 740IL and the sound system barely makes any sound on the right side. I replaced the front passenger side door speaker after being told that a blown speaker could be throwing the system out of whack. This didn't work, it still sounds bad. I was told it could be the amplifier, but this costs $1,300. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Don't know the answer but I have a '95 740i with exactly the same symptoms, worsening every day. Soooo, I'm preparing to bite the bullet and do the replacement/upgrade thing. It is 10 years old, after all.

Re: Sound System Problems

I replaced my factory radio with another more current radio/cd/mp3/wma player and with factory speakers, i have had no problems with any of my speakers working, just took a little while to figure out which wire was for the power, speakers, etc. but works great now.
