The dealer has to re-program the computer to get it gone...its built in, no way for us to disable it that I've seen.

I just put a piece of duct tape across the little speaker on the chime relay, it's right above you e-brake under dash. It sounds but you can barley hear it even with radio off. Unless they changed something from 98 to 99 silverado's.So I guess u can say I reprogrammed it with tape.

I fugured I could bust the little speaker or tear it out with a pair of good pliers. I will have to look for it when I get off work. I know in my 95 it was just a removable module....simple enough

Thanks for the information

Yeah, I'm with SC...much easier, considering that there is NO speaker in the 99 models. It's built into the BCM.

Thanks for the information guys. On another note, Has you heard of anyproblems in the 99 models with the electric window motors. I amabout to replacemy drivers side for the third time and I have replaced my passenger side 2 times. At 150.00 each time it is getting expensive. I cannot keep window working in this truck ??

Thanks,
