Prelude gets raped.
If were talking aroudn a track it may be close, but the SH model si even slower than a Base model in a straight line because of the extra weight.

Re: Stock Prelude type-sh Vs. Stock Eclipse GSX?
um...that quarter mile time for the lude is wrong. i've actually heard its 14.9, but i believe a closer number would 15.5. i could drive my lude faster than 15.9 at the track my first time around. no way an experienced driver could go that slow in one.
P.S. I believe the added traction out of the hole makes up for the weight of AWD. the SH's ATTS system adds very little to no benefit on the quarter mile.

Off the line the GSX will take one, no doubt. Although from a 40+mph roll, the lude should stand a fair chance.

The GSX also has a whole lot more torque.

I can't stress this enough, Type SH is just a base model Prelude with a fancy suspension package. I hate when people use it as a flagship model for Preludes. I'd like a fourth gen Prelude VTEC would fare better against a turbo AWD DSM.

Er, ok. A WRX will do more than just compete with a GSX. A WRX would rip a GSX up in everyting. Infact, a Prelude SH would take a GSX on the track and a 4rth gen SRV could probably keep up with it in the 1/4 or be close AND take it on the track. Unfortunately the handling on the Talons and Eclipses isn't anything to write home about despite the AWD. That or the Preludes just have really awesome handling in comparison. |
