2002 Mustang - Warranty

I bought a used Mustang (21K miles) from dealer and tonight the clutch seems to be inoperative. In any gear, release of the clutch does not engage the engine. The car now has 26K miles and I don't have my warranty documentation in front of me. Is this a warrantable item from Ford?

This is a 2002 mustang 3.8L

I don't think the warranty covers the clutch. However, if you just bought it recently (like today or yesterday) then that might be a different story. Call your dealer and find out!

Did you test drive the car?

Yes we did and it drove fine. Got a report from the dealer today. Said the friction plate totally disentegrated indicating excessive wear. Non-warrantable.

No warrenty on that.... get a Spec Stage 2 clutch for that. Much stronger than the organic clutches. I would say Stage 3, but that might be slightly too much for normal drivers. I actually have that in the 01 and the 03. I love the clutch.
