Why, they did a two year old program. What's so great about that?

Im not really into the whole games thing, but I did hear on the radio the small $hitcake thats brewing.....

Yep, us Canadians got ripped out of a gold.

I say fine, if they dont give us the medal then ok but at least stir up some $hit. All I hear is a bit of whining and very little action.

Its proably a bit harsh, but I would have chosen to pull Canada out of the games and Boycot.

We earned the medal and its quite obvious we should have got it. Its not the medal itself thats important, its the whole fact that the judging is not being done very well.

Us Canadians need to get some balls and take some action when ppl screw with us.

Canadian Olympics Ripoff

This is what happens when they use volunteers and put them in a subjective role....they have latitude in which they can not only make errors, but make deliberate errors.

That was a major, ugly, and total ripoff. Last night on T.V. they said that the French judge had said that she agreed to trade her vote to the Russian judge for his (or her) vote in another skating event.

OH, REALLY? Well, guess what..........that's better known as an admission to a conspiracy. And the only thing that can overturn a score, or so they've said, is if a judge admits to there have been a conspiracy prior to the event.

Sounds like Canada just "officially" now won the gold in pairs to me (and well deserved....).

Now go do something about it and go get those skaters the gold hardware that they deserve, eh.......

And get those stinking judges replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of them. That's a travesty to competitors who worked for years and years to get to the Olympics. Dang shame....

It's utter bullshit.

Regardless of whether it's "just figureskating", it's still a gold medal at the Olympics. It's dishonest, and it totally undercuts all of the hard work and effort the athletes have put into their preparation for the competition.

And I doubt there are any Canadians who give a flying f$ck about what the NZ media thinks.

i have to say I'm on the canadians side on this one.

I saw the two pairs skating. Canada won it outright, no comparison.

if what was said about the French judge is true. the whole figure skating competition is f*cked.

I dont understand what you mean. Our team had the better performance hands down, and made fewer mistakes.

Have they used that particular routine before? I dont know, but thats not the point.

I hope to see them make the right decision and give us Canadians the gold.

I tell ya what though. This figure skating thing has nothing on how they did Roy Jones Jr. in Korea a while back. Remember that?

Considering all we are hearing about the judges working out deals to give votes to certain teams, it sure seems like the Canadians have a reason to be pissed. Old routine or not, its not right that the atheletes who worked so hard to be at the olympics are not judged on a level playing field. I watched the performances so both of the teams routines were new to me. It was clear the Canadians had a near perfect program while the Russians were a bit off. The ISU needs to clean up their act before they tarnish the sport so badly that people who enjoy it start turning away. Those people who dont like it anyway could give to shits so who cares about them.

I don't know all the details of the story, but in my opinion what does it matter if the Canadian's routine was 2 years old? They obviously were good enough to get into the Olympics, that there should say something.

I wanted to stay out of it but I can't. I don't know what you were watching, but to me the Canadians skated well, but the Russians skated better. For Pete's sake, watch the whole performances again (not just the juicy bits). If you lose, lose graciously.
