stalled all day,ran perfect tonight/?

93 / 3.8 ltr. stalled like crazy everytime I put it in a gear and pressed the gas a little. Come to a stop, stalls out. starts and idles fine, get past the stall at low RPM's and it runs fine. Barely got from A to B. On the way home 5 hours later it ran perfect 26 miles. WHY ME?

sounds like a evap emissions system problem. Your fuel system is not purging pressure properly and is vapor locking on you. When the temp cools off in teh evening, the gas doesn't vaporize as easily, and the car will run fine. Change the fuel cap first, easy and cheap, it may cure your problem. If that doesn't help, I'd say your canister purge soleniod has failed and is letting excessive air pressure build up in your fuel system.

Thank you richtazz, your concern, time and effort to help a guy like me, pulling the last strands of my hair out, is priceless.
I tried to pull codes to no avail. Yesterday when I was at a stoplight and it was stalling, I pressed the brake with one foot, gas with the other. The brake pedal went down slowly to the floor...stall. I was thinking power brake booster. But after reading your reply, I want to track down the canister purge solenoid. I have smelled gas around the rear end but can't find a leak. when I smelled into the cap area, I definately smelled gas. I'll see if I have an old cap around, I just took one off my f150 to put a locking cap on, maybe it will fit.

I tried to get a purge solenoid but it's sunday and the open stores don't stock it. I'll buy one tomorrow, about 15-20 bucks. Better than the hundred plus for a fuel pump. I disconnected the canister purge solenoid wires and the car ran fine 26 miles round trip. I assume that without the solenoid connected the bypass stays open. By the way, the 1996 F-150 gas cap fit the 1993 buick lesabre.

I think I may have the same problem. I stall at some stop signs and sometimes it stalls when i stop the car and shift into reverse to back up. It always starts up fine and when I shift out of park after a stall it tries to stall again but manages to continue working.
