warrantee question

ok, i have a 2005 ls sport ecotec 2.2 and i plan to add a few things to it. with less than 1k miles on the motor, all warrantees still apply to the car. what kind of performance modifications can i do while still keeping the warrantee. also, what are the specific details of the gm factory warrantee. if anyone knows this it will help me greatly. thanks ahead of time. also, on an opinion standpoint, the 2005 cavy has an inch and a half thick strip of trim between both tires on both sides. on a black cavy, do you think i should paint that red or would that be too gaudy?

Re: warrantee question

This is a very touchy subject actually. Like if you buy a CAI your factory rubber intake, black box & bong, IAT sensor, and all that will become void when you put that in. If you lower your car for say coil overs or progressive springs on OEM struts or even aftermarket struts. Your strut mounts, OEM struts and what have will all become void. If you run N20 on your car they will void the whole thing right then and there. Basically stay away from hardcore engine mods ( i.e. forged pistons and rods ) or even more agressive cams. Motor mounts are ok. But really what it comes down to is the dealership discresion and has to be proven that the problem that went wrong was caused by infact the aftermarket product. There was a bill passed called the Magnussion Moss or somthing like that that state they can't void your warrenty unless it's proven that mod broke it.
