Re: transmission

When does it read high? I changed the fluid and filter in my Metro and it read high the next morning. I was looking at the cold indicator on the dipstick. After looking in the manual, I realized that the cold mark was just a guideline anyway and I wasn't even using that correctly. To use the cold marks you should start the car, shift through all of the gears slowly, then check the level while car is in park and idling. But best way is to drive the car to work or something and make sure it is at operating temp and check while in park and idling and use the hot markings.
