Japanese paint codes translation

Hi!

I have added reviews of some resin kits on my website, but most have only japanese instuctions. Can some japanese guy translate the following:

Left: Essex, right: JPS colors of the ClubM Lotus 88...
I assume these are color codes?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Japanese paint codes translation

I'm not a Japanese guy, but I can get this far:

Left side:
* 80 ko bu ru to bu ru :1 (cobalt blue #80 in the Gunze Mr. Color paint range)
5 "Blue" :2 (#5 in the Gunze Mr. Color paint range)
* shi ru ba (silver)
* se mi gu ro su bu ra ku (semi gloss black #92 in the Gunze Mr. Color paint range)

Right side:
* (mo de ra zu) no idea
rya ru pu ra ku ?royal purple?
mo shi ku ha no idea
2 pu ra ku ?purple?
* shi ru ba (silver)
* se mi gu ro su bu ra ku (semi gloss black #92 in the Gunze Mr. Color paint range)
See also the Gunze color chart in this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=262745

Hope this helps. When in doubt, triple-check your references...

All charachters of the first JPS color decoded:

It means:
Modeler's C07 Real Black
or
Gunze #2 Black

Re: Japanese paint codes translation

Yeah, that's it. the tiny marks at the top right edge of the "bu" syllable looked like the alternate marks to make the "p" sound instead of the "b" sound. My mistake.

I should have recognized it from the other instances of "black" on the page. Sorry!
