MANY questions on project Z...

Ok, I just bought my first Z, a 1986 300ZX, and its a great car, looks almost new for what I payed for it, and I really love it, but Its got some minor oil leaks, nothing thats hitting theground, but just kinda greasing up several parts on the engine. I dont think the AC works... is it a good idea to drop the compressor? I dont see why id need it... at least.. I dont normaly use AC, and I generaly drop it for weight, and engine access. (on previous cars that Iv had that it didnt work on)

Also, the night after I got the car, a leak started, Iv gotten to check it out, its comming from right behind the crank pully, right near where the Engine and the oil pan meet, and Iv lost almost all my coolant, what could the leak be? Iv thought it was the water pump, but im not positive, does anyone know of a site with diagrams of the engine, and the front accessories and what not?

Also, I got a new PVC valve, where does it go?

And a few of the small problems I have that I was hoping someone would be able to tell me simple fixes for.... My regular headlight comes on the passanger side, but the brights only work on the drivers side, but since replaceing the bulbs, sometimes, they will both stay on in regular lights, but never brights.

My oil pressure gauge doesent work, how do I diagnose and or fix?

Fog lights dont work... havent tried replacing them yet though...

Spark plug wires are a little hard to get outta there arnt they? Is it normal to have to remove anything off the top to replace your spark plugs?

And my oil filter is a little stuck... and really hard to get to... any suggestions?

Also, are there HP/Torque gains for the N/A cat to be removed?

I think thats about all the problems I have at the moment.. thank you in advance...

ok....longlivethez is the guy you need to talk to one here. he is the z31 expertise on here. but..until he gets on i might be able to give you some ideas on a couple problems.

oil pressure guage not working.........probably is the oil sending unit. maybe the wires came disconnected or it just stopped working.

fog lights...usually 20 year old fog lights tend to crack and the water proof casing tend to be a little less water proof causing water to enter and blow your bulb. i would reccomend changing them out.

spark plugs....i know spark plugs on the z32 are harder on most cars beings they have individual coil packs for each cylinder but i doubt you will have to remove anything major. on the z32, they are between each slot in the upper plenum. held down buy a couple bolts.

removing the cats on an n/a car...yeah there will be some horsepower gains...some cars more than others. anytime you are able to release the exhaust faster is going to give you some hp gains.
