Was Bush Wired for Sound?

A week after bloggers accused John Kerry of cheating for bringing a black pen into the debate, new questions have emerged regarding a screen shot taken of Bush during last week's debate. Despite an agreement banning filming candidates from behind, Fox News, the camera pool operator, broke the agreement. In the 23rd minute of the debate, a shot of George Bush from behind revealed a mysterious bulge in the middle of his back.

Buzz has been slowly generating about the "bulge" and Salon.com reported on the matter, consulting experts and shining a light on the conspiracy theory that Bush may have been wired in order to receive live advice throughout the course of the debate. The practice is common among news anchors looking for a flawless performance on live television.

Critics of Bush, especially bloggers, have suggested for sometime that Bush wears an earpiece during public events in order to assist him with his speeches.

To add weight to the matter, during a D-Day speech in France by Bush, television viewers reportedly heard a voice from a crossed frequency that was feeding lines to Bush during his speech and also during the question and answer period. Additionally, In one odd moment during the presidential debate, Bush, in response to. . . well. . . nothing, held up his hand and strongly stated, "let me finish," suggesting that there was someone else talking to him aside from the moderator as he still had plenty of time left to make his point.

Although this can be viewed as a conspiracy theory from the left, it has generated quite a buzz on the Internet. Consider the "bulge" the rebuttal to the now infamous black pen that was used by the kooky right (and promoted by Matt Drudge) as an excuse for Kerry's overwhelming victory in the first debate.

According to Electoral-Vote.com, the photo was taken directly from a tape of the debate and enhanced using software by Red Hawk Vision. Other screen shots are circulating but this is by far the most detailed capture of the video that could be found at the time.]

Bush had intelligence arguing everything from 'Saddam couldn't raise a pencil in self-defence' to 'Saddam is armed to the teeth with WMD'.He chose to go with the WMD 'intelligence' that suited his longstanding intention to invade Iraq.
