for the z32 (90-96). the 92-95's are probably the best. the 96's are just as good its just that they lost some horsepower. there is no such thing as a vg30det unless it is custom made.

Re: which model for an engine

there IS such a thing as a vg30det, just not in the 300zx. it came in the cedric vehicle which was only sold in japan. anyways, 91-96 should be the best years. the '96 truthfully didn't loose any power, it lost power to emissions but then gained it back by more aggressive cam angles. the peak hp is the same, it is just where the peak hp is found at is different.

Re: which model for an engine

Im planning on making a Single Turbo version of a Slicktop... When I win the lottery.

Joel is currently developing a Single Plenum... One throttle body, gets rid of EGR Systems, excess vaccum hosing, clumped up EFI Wiring, etc.

I cant wait to see how it comes out.

Re: which model for an engine

Haha, sounds excellent.

Here are my list of plans with the Slicks.

-1992 Black Slicktops
-VG30DETT powertrain
-Single turbo conversion
-Single plenum conversion
-NISMO/Border injection system
-Electric water pump
-Electric radiator fan
-Custom made radiator/FMIC/Radiator inlet
-Fully built lower end (Yea... About $12,000)
-Fully built upper end
-Racing timing belt (DEFFINATELY a must)
-Cryogenically treated engine components
-Fully built suspension
-Brembo true 13" rotors
-Custom made six speed transmission
-Single peice carbon driveshaft
-Custom made rear end
-Custom made 18" Black deep lip wheels
-COMPLETE Fairlady exterior conversion (i.e fascia, valence, sideskirts (will have to be modified to fit on the coupe body) taillights, projectors etc)

Yea... Thats about $80,000 haha

So it wont happen any time soon... Thats going to be my life project. So maybe when Im about 35 I'll have her on the street tearing future supercars apart.

"... How did that old ass Z beat my 2025 Ferrari F50?"

Cant wait
