looking for advice before swap
I just found this forum and am very pleased with what I have read
first some quick info ... the bad news, I have an 89 blazer 350, auto, loaded, 4" susp 33" BFG, that I have just taken off the road ... broken frame and rotten floor The good news is that I have just put my stock 77 k5 350, auto, tilt, cruse, air, on the road, now my questions 1. the owners man for my 77 lists power gate, windows, and locks as optional and since the doors are rough I want to swap them with my 89's mint doors and gate that have pw, pl, etc, will they bolt up and plug in to the 77 harness or will I be wiring the newer doors and gate in 2. I want to swap the mint interior from my 89 everything from the carpet to the headliner, including steering wheel and guages, if anyone has done this please let me know if there were any problems encountered before I start ripping things apart 3. I am also planning to swap the front clip hood, fenders, grill and rad cradle, again if anyone has done this let me know of any problems they encountered 4 th and final question ... other than experience is there any info or are there any guides available published, web, etc. about the interchangeability of the parts on these trucks I realize that a lot can change in 12 years but both of my trucks are so similar it seems like it all can be done any info would be appreciated Rob |

re: cab swap
The floor is rotten on the 89 ... believe it or not the 77 cab is in mint shape with the exception of the doors, fenders and gate I would rather swap front clip, doors and gate ... my main conscern is the wiring and wether or not it will plug into the older harness
thanks for the reply ... any other info would be appreciated Rob |
