Yeah, so today I got into a nice little accident with my baby. Guy was in my blind spot, couldn't see him, switched lanes, his front corner nailed my fender right behind the wheel then rode all the way down my door. Luckily everyone was fine (physically). I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea how much it'd cost to fix, assuming nothing mechanical is wrong. I need a new passenger side front fender and door. I know a body shop estimate is the best, and I'm doing that, but any guesses? (I'm thinking around $3000)

Re: Any clue on cost
well...depends if you want oem or aftermarket. if you need a new fender, you can get body kit ones like the z3s or something else. the door panel you might be able to get at a junk yard. your probably looking at anywhere from 700 (cheapest with junkyard parts with a maaco paintjob) to probably about 2500 (oem parts and paint)
i remember my repair came to about 4500, and that included a fender, hood, bumper, and a headlights, all oem with paint done by the original honda dealer.

Re: Any clue on cost
I just got a new door a little while ago, used from the junk yard was 300$ with the window, fender is going to run about 100$ ... paintjob, depending on the quality, anywhere from 300-700... so you are looking around 1200 bucks for a quality job after taxes and stuff ... not to bad in my opinion

Re: Any clue on cost
most shops will ignore tax if you pay cash. they might just not tell you, so make sure to ask

Re: Any clue on cost
Yeah, but the thing about that is that you would have no reciept if something goes wrong in the future and you have to take it back.

Re: Any clue on cost
exactly, on something like a paint job you want a receipt, especially if they have a warrenty on their paint jobs, how are you going to prove you had the job done without a receipt? and i have heard of stories where paint jobs go to shit and start chipping and pealing!! too expensive to deal with that bs, GET A RECEIPT

Re: Any clue on cost
Thanks guys, this makes me feel a lot better. I have a few connections (mechanic friend, another guy who works for a Honda dealership) so I'm hoping things work out. I'm thinking of getting some aftermarket fenders and then replacing the door, so we'll see. Thanks a lot guys.
